Notebook Processor Comparison
What is the best virus protection?
I have Windows Vista, Gateway MT6916 notebook. This is a 32 bit operating system and use Intel processors Centrino Duo (Dual Core). I currently have Windows Live OneCare, which ends in October. People at Circuit City recommended to me, however, Gateway does not recommend altogether. I think the people at Circuit City recommended because the laptop has a smaller memory base ... Windows Live OneCare and use less memory. I would assume the person making the operating system for computers would know best, right? Onecare.live.com why you think they do not like it? Also, what would you say is the best. Give the comparative and explanations. I really appreciate it!
All the Antivirus companies vying for the same purpose. To be better than others. This means, the larger the company, the more expensive the software they sell, the better your chance to be protected. Since many of the world of big business are protected by the Symantec company, this gives a HUGE advantage to Norton. One more excellent is McAfee. I personally like NOD, Trend Micro and Kaspersky AV. Nothing beats if you manage the Symantec AV in 1000 from The computer that you want - 1) protection real time (yes it slows your computer down, but YOU need to have it) 2) Signitures updated every 24 hours (and make sure he does) 3) Full system scan every night 4) Some types of Host Intrusion Detection System Based on All in all, there is no better than the other AV. Once the virus is found, they are racing to update the definition them first. Symantec / Norton will not be first all the time ... However, AVG wont DEFINITELY! Several good reviews - http://antivirus-software.topchoicereviews.com/ http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ http://www.av-comparatives.org/ EDIT - Steve, I guess that's why the best of the best from the Linux gathering and writing Linux Exposed? http://www.hackinglinuxexposed.com/ If you are using operating systems that use a business or may contain information that people may consider valuable, you will have people use it. Linux, MAC, Windows, Mainframe IBM, Cisco, Intersys. It doesn't matter. Its all code ... all have holes. It all users to use it in a way that might allow social engineering. Its almost impossible to always protect the physical security.
